Financial Wellness for Your Team or Group

Published December 3, 2021

The VyStar@Work Financial Wellness Program is a free financial education program that we deliver to businesses and community organizations. Our goal is to teach people about credit unions and give them the knowledge they need to reach their financial goals. By bringing our services into the community, we can meet people where they are on their financial journeys and show them how joining a credit union could improve their financial well-being.

How the Program Works

VyStar representatives from our offices and local branches visit businesses and organizations to deliver presentations on financial topics and answer questions. For example, we might attend a businesses’ new hire orientation or an organization’s event and educate people about the benefits of credit union membership. We also offer onsite enrollment, free money-management counseling and access to our free health savings account (HSA) program.

VyStar@Work Isn’t Just for Businesses

VyStar@Work was originally created to raise financial awareness to employees of local businesses, but its purpose has grown and expanded over the years. In August, VyStar@Work Manager Kemal Gasper visited Jacksonville-based nonprofit Don’t Miss a Beat and held a seminar with students and their parents on the importance of financial wellness. Participants could also become VyStar members by enrolling online at the event. This grassroots approach to sharing the benefits of credit unions has allowed us to organically grow our membership and help more people improve the financial situations.

Financial Education Resources

We regularly host free seminars designed to teach financial well-being to anyone who wants to improve their financial know-how. Recent seminars include “Teenagers & Money: How to Succeed” and “Women in Investing: Invest in Yourself.” In addition, we offer self-paced online courses on financial topics like investing and buying a home, as well as free financial counseling services to help members and prospective members reach their financial goals.
