A simple grocery bag filled with non-perishable food items can make a meaningful difference for a local family. From August 1 - 31, 2026, donations can be dropped off at any VyStar branch.
Good Starts with a Meal
Food collected throughout August will be donated to local food banks during Good is everywhere in September, helping support neighbors facing food insecurity. While there’s never an expectation to give, every donation can help make a meaningful difference.
Food insecurity affects millions of families across the communities we serve. According to Feeding America’s 2023 Map the Meal Gap study, 14.4% of people in Florida and 14.9% of people in Georgia lack consistent access to enough nutritious food, highlighting a critical need throughout our region.
Most Needed Items Include:
Peanut butter
Canned soup
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Canned stew
Canned fish (tuna, salmon etc.)
Canned beans
Pasta
Rice
Other shelf-stable pantry items
Please Do Not Donate:
Perishable foods requiring refrigeration or freezing (produce, dairy, meat etc.)
Expired food items
Leftovers or homemade foods
Opened food packages
Damaged, dented or bloated cans
Food packaged in damaged or broken containers
Homemade baked goods
