Jacksonville, Florida — Brian E. Wolfburg, President/CEO of VyStar Credit Union, announced the official opening of VyStar’s 61st branch at 1814 W. Tennessee St., Tallahassee, Florida. VyStar officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly constructed branch on Wednesday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. to formally introduce the credit union to the community.
VyStar’s first branch in Leon County continues its growth toward the Florida Panhandle following the acquisition of branches in Perry and Steinhatchee in 2019. Construction will soon begin on a second Tallahassee branch that is expected to open in 2022 and contain a regional Contact Center hub. Together, the two locations will help VyStar serve members who live in the Tallahassee area, which includes a vibrant mix of college students, young professionals, families and state employees.
Brian Wolfburg says, “It’s always exciting for VyStar when we get to become part of a new community, and that is especially true as we begin to serve our state capital. We look forward to creating meaningful connections with local residents, small business owners and community organizations while offering the best-in-class products and services that our members have come to expect.”
The Tallahassee branch features VyStar’s new digital-forward design concept, which improves how employees connect with members. That includes interactive touchscreen kiosks that provide financial tools and allow members to quickly explore the latest products, services and rates.
Lobby hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Drive-thru hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
While new to the Tallahassee community, VyStar has been a proud sponsor of Florida State University athletics since July 2019 through a partnership that provides statewide media support for the program’s football, basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball teams. Expanding its branch presence allows VyStar to better serve local residents through sponsorships, engagement and personalized member service.
“VyStar stands out because of the technology and innovation we offer to our members,” said Tallahassee Branch Vice President Miron Richardson. “We’re here to connect with them, focus on their needs and find solutions. When someone walks into VyStar, I want them to leave knowing we’ve taken care of them and helped them reach their financial goals.”
