VyStar Credit Union and Over The Moon Diaper Bank are partnering to bring attention to the many families struggling to provide diapers for their children. In support of National Diaper Need Awareness Week from Sept. 18-24, 2023, VyStar’s Savannah branch is hosting a diaper drive and calling on its members and the public to support Over the Moon Diaper Bank by donating diapers and baby wipes to support families in need.
Over The Moon Diaper Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that every child in Savannah and Coastal Georgia has enough diapers to remain clean, dry and healthy. “An estimated 47% of families experience diaper need and this partnership will help bring this often-overlooked problem to the forefront,” said Over The Moon Diaper Bank Founder/Executive Director Katie Griffith. “With the support of VyStar and its members, we are confident we can make a significant impact in our community.”
On average one baby goes through 5,000 diapers in their first two years of life. National Diaper Need Awareness Week draws attention to this critical situation affecting nearly half of American families. Individuals, organizations and communities are encouraged to work together to ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Donations of diapers from newborn to size 7, adult diapers, training pants (preferred sizes 2/3T) and baby wipes may be dropped off at VyStar's Savannah branch at 477 Johnny Mercer Blvd., Savannah, GA 31410, Sept. 18-24, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All items will be distributed to local families in need.
