VyStar Credit Union celebrated the official opening of the VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth during a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 4. The 759-space parking garage is located at 28 W. Forsyth Street in downtown Jacksonville. It will provide parking for VyStar employees, guests visiting the garage’s retail space tenants and the surrounding area.
"The new VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth is much more than a place to park. It introduces new retail, restaurant and nonprofit centers to downtown Jacksonville, which further supports our efforts to revitalize the area,” said Chad Meadows, VyStar’s EVP/COO. “We are very excited to fill the remaining retail space with important nonprofits and for Pour Taproom to introduce a unique experience to the area that so many people can enjoy.”
VyStar has signed a letter of intent for Pour Taproom to lease nearly 9,000 square feet of indoor and patio space along Laura Street. This latest franchise will offer a unique, self-serve experience that allows guests to enjoy a large, rotating assortment of local, regional, and national brand beers, wines and spirits accompanied by elevated Gastropub fare. Guests will enjoy the experience of being their own bartender using wristbands with RFID technology to activate an interactive tap wall with plans to have 80+ taps on rotation. The venue will offer an open environment for entertainment and a mezzanine available for private event rentals and catering. The space is currently in the design phase with plans to open by early 2024.
In addition to Pour Taproom, VyStar is also proud to announce that OneJax and Level the Playing Field Leadership Academy have signed letters of intent to lease the remaining available retail space along Forsyth Street. Both organizations are local 501(c)(3) nonprofits. OneJax promotes racial, religious and cultural tolerance in the Jacksonville area. Level the Playing Field Leadership Academy empowers young male athletes of color from single parent homes to become successful on and off the field.
Lastly, the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus officially moved into its new home in the retail space along Forsyth Street in February. The nearly 6,000 square foot space was specifically designed to meet the needs of the chorus and includes a large rehearsal and performance space, offices and meeting rooms.
"We are thrilled to have our new home in the VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth," said Darren Dailey, President & Artistic Director of the Jacksonville Children's Chorus. "The space is more than we ever imagined and was specifically designed to fit the needs of our program. We are already looking forward to the summer camp that will be offered this June and many more programs to come in the years ahead.”
The VyStar Parking Garage on Forsyth is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with security. Parking fees for non-VyStar employees are $3 for the first hour and $2 for every additional hour with a maximum of $25 per day.
