As a self-proclaimed event junkie and foodie, I can confidently say that few things bring me as much joy as a night out at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Whether it’s a game, a concert or even Disney characters skating across the ice, I’m always saying yes to an invite. Honestly, if you ask me to go to something at the Arena, just assume it’s a yes.
This year alone, I’ve been to two concerts: Forrest Frank and Tyler Childers. I literally love every single one of Forrest's songs. And I’m a sucker for a love song, so hearing Tyler's All Your’n live totally made my year. Along with those unforgettable nights, I've also made it to an Icemen hockey game, which was actually my first-ever hockey game (and I loved it!), a Sharks arena football game and Disney on Ice — and there’s still so much more on my list!
I am keeping a close eye on the arena event calendar, because I don’t want to miss a thing. There’s always something exciting happening, and I’m genuinely so thankful that we have a venue like this right in the heart of Jacksonville. It brings our community together through joy, music and memories.
As for seating, I don’t always sit in the same section, but I’ve learned that I do like being in the club area for that extra bit of luxury. I try to splurge on those seats when I can — they’re worth it!
Now let’s talk food. I don’t just go to events. I go for the full experience. And yes, that includes event food.
