You don’t have to wait until spring to clean out your closets. The holiday season is the perfect time to get rid of gently used sweaters, coats and jackets your family no longer needs. As temperatures begin to drop, less fortunate families begin to feel the impact. Our local shelters see a big increase in families seeking relief from the cold during the holidays. So why not get a head start on your spring cleaning and donate your warm clothing items to families that need them?
We know what you’re thinking. The hardest part isn’t finding the clothes to donate; it’s actually getting the stuff there! Somehow, those boxes and bags we fill up with the best intentions often find a way to get stuck in the garage or the trunk of a car, eventually being forgotten or tossed in the trash as we desperately search for donation bins. Well, the Mister Rogers’ Sweater Drive offers the perfect solution to the donation dilemma.
Throughout the month of November, 43 of VyStar’s 48 branch locations (excluding Volusia County branch locations) will serve as clothing drop-off points. All you have to do is stop by a VyStar branch near your home or on your way to work and drop the items off in the conveniently located, easy-to-access bins. We will do the rest! In December,
VyStar employees will help personally hand-deliver the donations to the needy at Jacksonville’s Clara White Mission. Check us out in action at last year’s drive in the photos!
Thank you for helping VyStar support the Mister Rogers’ Sweater Drive and the Clara White Mission, and we wish you and your loved ones a happy and bright holiday season!
